The purpose of this Resolution is to have the Council consider granting a Conditional Use Permit to the Lake Mills Area School District for siting the Lake Mills Elementary School. The application is included in the packet. The School District is proposing to construct a new elementary school on Pine Street to replace the existing elementary school on Prospect Street. The existing school will be retained while the proposed school is under construction. Following completion of the new facility, the “old” school will be razed.
A Public Hearing concerning the requested Conditional Use Permit was held on February 26, 2013, after due notice, to solicit testimony from the public; and the Plan Commission reviewed the evidence and testimony submitted at the public hearings and considered all of the available factual evidence concerning the requested action. The Plan Commission recommended that the City Council grant said Conditional Use Permit for the subject site with the conditions listed in the resolution. The adoption of this resolution awards the conditional use permit.
